BEAN AND HAM SOUP

Ingredients:
°An average package. For northern dry beans, I used 16 oz sizes.
°3 to 5 Meaty shank shank, sometimes I used meaty ham bone as well.
°1 white onion, diced.
°Enough water to cover the beans.
°Salt and pepper, to taste
